The destruction in Gaza City after Israeli forces launched another round of air raids during the night of 16 May. At least 197 Gazans—among them 58 children and 34 women—have been killed by Israeli forces since the assault on Gaza began, and 1,300 injured. As many as 40,000 people have already arrived at UNRWA schools in search of protection from the relentless Israeli bombardment of Gaza.
